Trail Information:

The Richards Raven trails are winding and scenic; hilly but not technical or difficult. The changing scenery in the different sections of the forest are beautiful and makes you feel as though you have traveled over much more territory than you actually have. Except for a few spots that have been reinforced with gravel, they are very barefoot friendly. The parking lot is gravel, as are the forest service roads. The trails are predominantly in the shade, great even in the heat of summer.

The trail head is conveniently located less than half a mile from the campground; approximately 10 minutes riding or leading your horse. The wide, grassy shoulder along the road is about the same width as a two lane road. The road itself is a high speed, rural highway (60mph). Should you prefer to trailer to the trailhead, the parking lot gates are open from dawn till dusk.

There are no horse or human amenities such as bathrooms or access to water.

The Richards Raven Equestrian Trails Facebook page is the best source for up-to-date information about anything happening on the trails.
